VMOS Cloud Android Phones with American Mobile Proxies

VMOS Cloud provides cloud Android phones that run in a data center and are controlled from your browser or the VMOS app. Each instance is a complete Android environment with its own device profile, apps and storage, which makes it useful for running mobile apps for client accounts, testing app behaviour in specific US regions, checking in-app advertising and monitoring mobile-only prices. Left on its default network, though, a cloud phone exits through a hosting provider, and American apps and services often treat that differently from a phone on a carrier. Routing each VMOS Cloud instance through a USAProx mobile proxy fixes that: the device leaves the internet from a real SIM on AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon, in a real American city. What a VMOS Cloud instance needs from a proxy

VMOS Cloud allows a proxy per instance, configured with type, host, port, username and password, and it can verify the connection before you save. All app and browser traffic on the instance then travels through the proxy. Because Android apps read the device timezone and locale, those need to match the proxy's city, and VMOS lets you set them per instance.

Apps are demanding: they mix TCP and UDP, use their own DNS, and frequently check whether the IP belongs to a carrier or a hosting range. A mobile proxy from a physical modem gives an answer those checks accept, and a US metro location gives the device a real place to be.

Setting up a USAProx proxy on a VMOS Cloud phone

Choose a proxy in your USAProx dashboard in the metro the phone should appear in, and note the host, both ports, username and password. In VMOS Cloud, open the instance's settings and locate the proxy section. Select SOCKS5 so UDP and DNS travel through the proxy; choose HTTP only if browser traffic is all you need. Enter the host, the matching port and the credentials.

Run the verify action and confirm the external IP is American and the city is the one you ordered. Save, then set the instance's timezone and locale to the same city. Open the browser inside the cloud phone and load an IP lookup page to confirm the address from the device itself. Only then install and sign into apps, so their first impression of the device is the correct network.

Sticky sessions versus rotation on cloud Android

Our proxies hold the same IP until you rotate, which is what a logged-in phone should do. Rotate between sessions, never during one, so apps see the consistent network a real handset would show. Rotations are unlimited on every USAProx plan and there is no wait between changes.

For repeatable checks, such as confirming an in-app price or an ad placement from several fresh IPs, rotate between each check using the rotation link or our API. A rotation reconnects the modem briefly, so wait for the proxy to come back before opening the next app session.

Scaling a VMOS Cloud fleet

Use one USAProx proxy per instance for anything that logs in. Shared IPs across instances create a shared history that app platforms can connect. Name instances and proxies the same way so the pairing is obvious in both dashboards.

Group instances by metro and keep timezones consistent within a group. VMOS Cloud supports managing many instances together, including batch actions, and our dashboard lets you label proxies by client or city. If several team members operate the same instances, share access through VMOS rather than sharing proxy credentials. The proxy lives in the instance configuration and does not need to travel.

Troubleshooting

A failed verify is almost always a credential typo or a port that does not match the type. Apps that show no connectivity while the browser works are usually relying on UDP or DNS; SOCKS5 resolves that. An app reporting a location different from the proxy city means the timezone or locale was set before the proxy or after a location move; fix them and restart the app.

If an app logs you out without warning, something rotated the proxy mid-session. Check scheduled scripts and colleagues with dashboard access. If sign-in challenges persist, confirm the IP inside the instance still matches the dashboard and that the device timezone agrees.
